In 2009, we (Tony’s family) were attending the awards celebration for that year’s Dayton JDRF Walk, and we had a rather odd exchange. It was lunch time, and Tony’s Mom was pulling out her Salter portable nutrition scale to get an idea of the carb count for the cookie Tony wanted to eat with his lunch. Another couple spotted what she was doing and started asking questions about the scale. They had no idea that such an item existed. We decided at that point to add a review section to the website where we could share information about the handy items we found:
